We finally made the escape from the valley heat today and make it to Kanab UT. It was a long drive of 385 miles but it was nice to get back on the open road. As usual the traffic was fairly heavy from Phoenix to well north of Flagstaff. Once we got to Kanab we stopped at the BLM office looking for suggestions on dispersed camping locations. Based on their suggestion we are at the Peek-a-Boo trail head located about 7 miles north of Kanab on the east side of 89. The trail head is a large parking area for ATV riders but is a great place to spend the night. We are the only ones here tonight. There was a small rain shower this evening which gave us a pretty rainbow.
Have they got the road to Page repaired yet? I love the Kanab area. Some beautiful drives around there.
